The transfer window will run from today until Tuesday, 31st January 2012, ending at 17:00pm. Below we take a look at some rumours involving Sheffield United;
Reports from skysports.com suggest that Sheffield United have already completed the free transfer of defender Marcus Williams has completed his move from Reading – signing a two and a half year deal.
Elsewhere there are ripples suggesting that Ben Marshall could move to the Lane from Stoke City. He is currently on loan at our nearest rivals Sheffield Wednesday with his deal running out, though we expect that this will be extended and he will remain at Hillsborough until at least the summer.
Also, Manchester United and Arsenal are tracking rookie shot stopper George Long – it is suggested he could move for £3,000,000.
Rotherham United striker Lewis Grabban has been touted in a move to Bramall Lane – he joined the Millers from Brentford last summer and may require a £750,000 fee to take him away from Don Valley Stadium.
Over the next few weeks there will be coming and goings, but we only hope that our ‘big’ named players aren’t lost from the team sheet come February.
