Halford, who has been on loan from Sunderland all season long has impressed Unitedites, and scoring the winner in Monday night's play-off semi-final did him no harm to his cause whatsoever. The versatile midfielder had to be replaced late on into the second half, but says he will be ready for the Blades' visit to Wembley Stadium.
He said: "I will be alright for Wembley - just try and stop me. This is what we were hoping for all along and the minimum position we would settle for this season was the play-offs - and we're in the final!
"In the first half we dominated and we always knew we would nick the decisive goal. The message at half time was to keep going and we got our chance and luckily the ball found the top corner.
"It's the most important goal I have scored in my career to date, and to get us to Wembley is a dream."
Halford was named Sky Sports' Man of the Match for both legs.
