The Welshman was under constant speculation last month in regards to his future at Bramall Lane, but the 23-year-old claims he always wanted to stay a Sheffield United player and is now eyeing promotion back to the Championship.
Evans said: "I'm feeling confident and I'm enjoying my football here at the moment. The whole squad and staff have got a good cohesion.
"We want to get promoted and that is the main feeling around the changing room.
"I had made my mind up that I was staying here and wasn't going anywhere. I am pleased to still be here and all I want now is a promotion medal."
With Evans' immediate future resolved he can now be focused on the task ahead: "I can now keep cracking on, keep putting the work in on the training pitch, and on matchdays hopefully I can keep my goalscoring run going."
