'He can go and play now'

Sharp is destined to begin the game at Blackpool on Saturday and has loads of weight off of his shoulders. It took him thirty seven leagues games to break his scoring deadlock in the last campaign.

Manager Kevin Blackwell had to say: "He's always worked his socks off, he's always worked very hard. I just want to keep Billy on the move and I think sometimes he's just a little bit too static in certain areas.

"He's just turned 22 and still learning the game and has had a big weight to carry on his shoulders. I hope that hat-trick has really lifted some of it off and for him to go and express himself.

"He hasn't got to prove anything to anybody else now because he's done it! A hat-trick at Bramall Lane and that's any Blades' dream. To grow up as a Blade go onto be a Blades player and score an hat-trick in front of the Kop.

"That's the monkey off his back and he can go and play now and hopefully he'll go from strength to strength."

The Blades travel to Blackpool on Saturday to search for their 2nd league win of the campaign.
