At the beginning of the 2003/04 season there were three first team keepers with Richard Wright, Steve Simonsen and Gerrard, but with the arrival of Nigel Martyn from Leeds United it puts Gerrard in fourth favourite between the sticks.
Gerrard said: "I love the club, the fans have been great and it is a great club to play for, so why not stay?
"At the moment I'm just coming into training every day and working hard. I've not spoken to Neil [Warnock] or my agent about a deal."
