Flynn, 25 who netted goals against Aston Villa and Charlton Athletic this season to help the Blades reach the FA Cup semi-final at Wembley which they lost heroically 5-3 to Hull City has been rewarded with a new two year deal which will run out on 30 June 2016 with the option of a third year. He was signed by former manager Danny Wilson from Falkirk in July 2011.
The Scottish winger told sufc.co.uk; "I am delighted to have signed a new deal. It means I can fully focus on next season and hopefully getting this Club back in the Championship. I know there has been talk of my contract for a while, but as soon as the club opened talks I knew I always wanted to stay here. I have been here for three seasons now, I can honestly say that this is the happiest I have been and that has reflected in my performances.”
Blades boss Nigel Clough added: “Ryan deserves his new contract and I am delighted we have managed to put this one to bed before the end of the season. He has been integral to our success in recent months and you couldn’t ask for a more honest, hard-working lad and Ryan is a real team player. This is the start of our planning for next season, it is important we complete our business quickly to hopefully enable us to hit the ground running when we return for pre-season.”
