Evans, 27 was sentenced to five years imprisonment for rape in April 2012, for which he served half before being released.
Despite being found guilty Evans has always pleaded his innocence and following new evidence has appealed against his conviction where he hopes to be handed an innocent verdict at the Court of appeal in London today.
Should he win his case then the judge can recommend a re-trial, although one does not have to be granted. He will also wish to re-start his football career but as a free agent is under no obligation to sign for Sheffield United, his last Football Club at the time of his conviction - assuming that SUFC would wish to sign him of course?
Since his released the former Welsh International has made several attempts to re-establish himself as a Professional Footballer but several factors such as public and sponsorship pressure has prevented a number of clubs from signing him, these include both Sheffield United and Oldham Athletic to name a few.
