One centre-half may be on the brink of leaving the Lane, but another has just had no hesitation in putting pen to paper on a new deal at Sheffield United. Chris Morgan, United's rock of a captain, has signed an added year on to his contract which will see him remain at Bramall Lane till mid 2011.
Likewise for Stephen Quinn. The midfielder has also similarly penned a new deal till 2011. Speaking on his renewal, Quinny said: "I am delighted, to be fair, and it has come at a good time with me starting to find my best form.
"It is nice to know where you stand and it is better to be at a club than worrying about the future.
"I feel old now but I have still got a long way to go to catch Morgs and Monty who been here for years. It seems strange to see all the comings and goings, but I absolutely love it here!
"To be honest, I couldn't picture myself anywhere else, but things can change so rapidly in football."
Meanwhile, Kevin Blackwell also commented on the duo's stay: "This is really good news for us, the pair have become stalwarts at Bramall Lane and will continue to play major roles in the development of the team."
