The Magpies, managed by former Blades defender Craig Short, were the champions of League Two last season and will face the likes of Sheffield Wednesday and Southampton this season. Short, who was appointed County boss last week, was Ferencvaros manager earlier this year. Ferencvaros are, of course, United's sister outfit.
The game at the New Meadow is on Tuesday 27th July 2010, with a 7:45PM kick-off. United had planned to have a pre-season friendly at Chesterfield's new B2net Stadium on the 27th of July, but unknown reasons have prevented Blades fans from a first trip to their new home.
The Notts County fixture makes it four lower-league sides as opposition in July. Mansfield, Burton and Rotherham have all already been planned.
