His current contract runs out at the end of this season but has agreed with chairman Kevin McCabe that such talks can take place at the end of the season.
"People put two and two together and make five by saying that if we don't get promoted I'll get sacked," Warnock told BBC Radio Sheffield.
"Kevin and I are happy about the situation so there is no problem.
"I am not bothering them for a new contract and am quite happy to go along with that situation and see where we are at the end of the season."
