The-24-year-old who isn't sure about his Lane future netted a peach of a goal in the weekends match against Ipswich Town and he confesses that its one of his sweeter strikes in his career, but admits he has scored a better one.
He said: "I have scored a better one but its up there with one of my best and it was a perfect moment to score. I really couldn't believe how much space I had and everyone knows I've got a pretty decent strike on me, so it was strange but I took advantage of it."
Halford is under no illusions to how important the final six games are and knows the victory over the Tractor Boys will go a long way to United's bid for promotion. He said: "We knew how important the Ipswich game was, and how important the Barnsley game on Tuesday night is too.
"I thought the lads coped with the pressure really well and I thought we got out of the blocks fast but Ipswich didn't seem to want to press us at all which gave myself and the rest of midfield a lot of time on the ball.
"It was a very strange second-half and we knew we had to come out all guns blazing. We knew Ipswich were looking for that goal but we shut up shop and it was a professional performance."
Greg has created an understandable partnership with Kyle Naughton one the right-wing as he explains: "Its very easy because Kyle and I can both play right-midfield and right-back. When he bombs forward I can just tuck in and vice versa.
"We're not short of confidence."
Tonight sees 1st play 2nd at St Andrews where United will be hoping for a Wolverhampton Wanderers win, and Greg admits he'll have his eyes glued to the television come Monday evening. He said: "I'll definitely be watching on Monday night but we'll just have to wait and see what happens."
