Quotes from Carney like 'he's a horrible man to play for' and ' It's not a good situation' were stated on the Aussie website. But Carney told United's official website that the comments made were nonsense.
He said: "I did a couple of interviews but things have been blown out of all proportion. Remarks have been attributed to me that I certainly did not make. There is nothing more that I want than to stay here and fight my way into the team.
"I have spoken to the Gaffer and he has indicated the need for me to work harder and change my game in order to do that, which I accept. He he has done wonders for United since he came to the club and I have really enjoyed the whole experience in Sheffield.
"It is just unfortunate that I have yet to make the team this season having been away with Australia. It is frustrating and is definitely up to me to knuckle down here. I want the United fans to accept that the story is untrue and that I really want to do my best for Sheffield United."
