Pirates, bunnies and cows all had their first taster of indoor skydiving at the Airkix wind tunnel yesterday thanks to the Milton Keynes Theatre District Mascot Olympics 2007. All costumed mascots took to body flying very well, wowing the crowds with their aerial expertise in wind speeds of up to 150mph, as part of their celebrations for the games .
Earlier in the day the mascots had after completed a number of challenges including tobogganing and penalty shoot out, testing the strength, stamina and courage. The competition saw Gully Mouse from Gullivers Land take gold.
"We've taught many people and animals to fly at the Airkix wind tunnel, however we've never had a cow, pirate, hornet, mouse, lion and rabbit all learn to body fly in one day. It was certainly entertaining. " Said Simon Ward, chairman, Airkix wind tunnel.
The event was organised as part of the Milton Keynes 40th celebration which has seen a host of other events take place across the city.
