The Blades last game ended in glory as they demolished Grimsby Town 4-1 at Blundell Park. Dean Windass, Steve Kabba and Robert Kozluk put the Blades ahead within 30 minutes but the Mariners hit back when Stuart Campbell score a minute later but a superb Michael Brown effort finished them off, although Alan Pouton was sent off for the home side.
United could struggle as there are around eleven players out, Michael Tonge is injured, as is Robert Ullathorne, Iffy Onoura, Carl Asaba and Steve Yates. Both Wayne Quinn and Peter Ndlovu were sent off in the 1-0 defeat against Norwich and will serve a one match suspension.
Sheffield United do have cup-ties though, these are Dean Windass, Owen Morrison and Marcel Cas. New loan signing John Curtis (from Blackburn Rovers) will not be able to play has he missed the transfer deadline to play in this round.

The Whites fell victims to Manchester United at Old Trafford in there mid-week match. The Reds took the lead when Lucas Radebe turned ball into his own goal with 20 minutes gone but Australian International Mark Viduka equalsed before Mikael Silvestre scored the
winner with eleven minutes to go.
Super Whites manager Terry Venables (El Tel) has to wait on four players to see if they will miss or start the game against United, these players are defenders Gary Kelly and Michael Duberry who are out with a hamstring injury while Jason Wilcox has the flu. Following a ankle ligament, Norwegian Erik Bakke has returned to training but El Tel will have to wait and make a decision.

Jason Wilcox made a great one-two with Nick Barmby and crossed into the box, defender Steve Yates attempted to clear for a corner but somehow sliced it into his own goal to put the visitors ahead. The Blades hit back though but had to wait till 91st minute when Phil Jagielka hammered home a 25 yard strike into bottom corner.
The winner came around moments later when Michael Tonge burst through the Leeds defence and put Paul Peschisolido free on the right hand side, his low hard cross fell to Peter Ndlovu but his shot deflected off Wayne Allison and steered towards goal, Jonathan Woodgate (now at Newcastle) tried to clear off line but could only stab it in the path of Ndlovu who made sure at his second attempt to make it 2-1 to 'The Red And White Wizards'.
