Camara arrives at the Lane with the Blades suffering with so many injuries and a turn for the worse in terms of form. The Senegalese appeared in the reserve Sheffield Derby at Hillsborough last month when on trial. His agents previously rejected an offer from the club for the 32-year-old.
He joins a current set-up of four strikers at the club; Darius Henderson, Ched Evans, Richard Cresswell and Jamie Ward, although the latter played a winger role for the Red and White Wizards before his injury.
On Camara's signature, Blackwell said: "At a time when we have got so many major players out through injury, he will bring plenty of experience and a bit of quality to the squad.
"He is a proven goal-scorer and although he will take a bit of time to get fit, he will be able to give us cameo roles from the bench to begin with."
Henri himself also spoke about the move: "I am keen to play and score goals and although I am lacking a bit of match fitness I am confident that I can make a difference.
"I wanted to stay in England, I have played a lot of my football over here and I like it. This is a good move for me and I am desperate to get playing and be involved again.
"I have signed until the end of the season and if all goes well I'd hope that can be made longer."
He is just two appearances short of breaking the 100 caps barrier at international level.
