BBC Radio Sheffield understands Tractor Boys manager Roy Keane has decided to keep Steve Bruce's son in Suffolk.
Reports suggested the 25-year-old's switch from Portman Road to Bramall Lane was imminent, but the deal has seemingly fallen through.
The change of mind from the Irishman manager has left Kevin Blackwell in a sticky situation. With only two recognisable centre-backs (Chris Morgan and the recently recruited Nyron Nosworthy), the Blades are in desperate need of another one or two centre-backs to provide back up.
It's reported that Bruce agreed personal terms with the Blades over the weekend, but it's a dramatic u-turn from Roy Keane, which will not please the Blades gaffer.
