BladesUnited was the official forum for SUFC, but the plug has been pulled for certain circumstances.

A statement on BladesUnited reads: 'The fans' forum needed resources which we found difficult to justify. Independent forums of this nature inevitably require constant monitoring of content and, as this was on an official Sheffield United platform, it was important to preserve propriety. There was a danger of not being able to do this."

Several other Sheffield United-based web sites featuring forums where fans can exchange views and comments are available. The club will actively contribute to those sites whenever it is necessary to answer questions on club matters.

A spokesman for the club said "Sheffield United wish to thank its operators over the past decade for supplying the forum.'
