Lucketti, 34 moved to Bramall Lane from Preston North End last March, initially on loan until the end of the season before he made his move permanent for £200,000.
However with the arrival of David Sommeil from Manchester City and Claude Davis; also from Preston Lucketti has seen his opportunities disappear and has made only three appearances since his arrival.
United though are suffering with injuries at the back line; with Davis out for a while it looks as though Lucketti will be staying put for now though the Deepdale club look keen on a permanent deal.
