The fine will cost £100,000 though it has been suspended up to the end of 2005/06 season, as well as that they have been ordered to close down nearly half of the 7,992 capacity Arnold Laver Stand (South Stand).
A statement on the FA's website read: "The most serious of the charges relates to the match against Sheffield Wednesday at Bramall Lane on January 17, 2003, when marine distress flares were fired from sections G and H of the Laver Stand, creating a highly dangerous situation which resulted in the injury of a spectator.''
Naturally the Blades have also been handed a warning about their future conduct relating to the Norwich City home game on 22 February 2003 in which coins were frown from the Laver Stand at match officials.
Two sections of the Laver Stand (far side near the Bramall Lane End) will be completely netted over and will be taken off once the club has provided more CCTV in that area and proved tat they can control behavour in the same area.
Adding to that they have been told they must publish 'health and safety' instructions with in the clubs official programme.
