Etl, who becomes the Blades' second international signing of the close season, was part of the Crystal Palace side which sent inferior neighbours Sheffield Wednesday into oblivion at the start of May. He made 45 appearances for the Eagles in a turbulent couple of years.
It was confirmed tonight (Tuesday) that the 27-year-old has penned a contract at Bramall Lane for two years and will officially become a Blade on July the 1st. On the signature of the versatile Ertl, who can play in various positions, Kevin Blackwell said:
"He's a good lad who can do a very solid job at right-back, central midfield and even at centre-half. And he has played enough times in the Championship for me to know he can come in and do it for us here."
The club also point out that Ertl, born in Graz, will incidentally be the first ever Austrian to don the red and white stripes of Sheffield United.
