The former Celtic man has been on loan at Neil Warnock's Crystal Palace from West Brom earlier in the season but injuries at The Hawthorns meant that the striker had to return to WBA.
But Tony Mowbray has allowed Beattie go go back out on loan, this time to the Blades. The Baggies do have the option of a 28 day recall.
He will join a strike force of Darius Henderson, Arturo Lupoli, Danny Webber, Billy Sharp and Jamie Ward.
He did pick up an injury midway through January but he is now back to full fitness.
