Paynter, 29 has become Blades boss Nigel Clough's first signing during his so far short tenure as manager of Sheffield United. The striker, signed on a months loan from South Yorkshire rivals Doncaster Rovers will bolster the attacking options with; Chris Porter, Shaun Miller, Jose Baxter and Jamie Murphy has recognised forwards already on their books.
Having featured in Rovesr 3-2 defeat at home to Stevenage last Saturday he will be cup-tied for the fourth round of the FA Cup and won't be elligable to face either Norwich City or Fulham. He is likley to make his debut at Nott's County tomorrow.
