The Socceroo is believed to have had a bust up with Kevin Blackwell about his tactics. Australian website SBS published the interview with the 24 year old. Here's what he had to say:
"He's a horrible man to play for, tactically he's terrible - it's just all about the long ball. I'll have a talk with him this weekend and hopefully get out on loan to a club that suits my style better. If I changed my style to suit him then I probably wouldn't get picked for the Socceroos anymore.
"He came and saw me play for the Socceroos and told me he didn't like the way I played for them, so what can you do? It's not a good situation. I wanted to leave at the end of last season and told him so.
"And going to the Olympics probably didn't help my cause with the boss. He belongs in the lower leagues - but I don't belong there with him.
"I'd like to stay in England, but I will have to go somewhere that suits the way I play. I think there will be a few changes for me in the next few months - hopefully anyway."
Carney has played one game this season. That were the Carling Cup encounter with Huddersfield.
