The game was played at the Blades reserves home ground, Saltergate (home of Chesterfield) and it was midfielder Tyrone Thompson and trialist Jason Gavin from Middlesbrough who where goal happy.
Neil Warnock was in the directors box at Saltergate as he watched wingers Marcel Cas and Owen Morrison brandish a superb performance.
New signing from Hampton and Richmond Borough, Ashley Stestanovich played the full 90 minutes in a wide midfield position.
The first chance fell to Millers Hoskins but failed to put the visitors ahead, though Cas, Morrison, Ryan Mallon and Laurens Ten Heuvel all wasted fantastic opportunities to take the lead for United.
The game had to wait until first half stoppage time when the first goal hit the net, midfielder TYRONE THOMPSON picked up the ball on the edge of the 18 yard box and fired past keeper Ian Gray with his un-favoured left foot.
Former Wednesday winger Owen Morrison terrorised the opposition as United once again dominated in the local derby and looked liked making it 2-0 but his shot cannoned off Shaun Barker for a corner.
However the Blades did not have to wait long until they scored again, Marcel Cas was let lose on the wing and his inch perfect cross landed on the head of JASON GAVIN on 56 minutes to score.
Blades keeper Tom Lindley was making his reserves debut but was not troubled at any real time in the game. Near the final whistle Danny Wood went close to making it three, but the sad point of the game was when Owen Morrison was forced to retire from the game to a shoulder injury.
