After the Football League announced today (Monday) which teams were to be seeded and which were to be unseeded for the First Round draw, it saw Sheffield United placed in the seeded section and Sheffield Wednesday in the unseeded, allowing the chance for the Steel City rivals to face each other just three days into the campaign!
The First Round of the League Cup is split into Northern and Southern sections, and then all teams are categorised as seeded or unseeded.
The Blades could also face neighbours Chesterfield and Rotherham in the opening round, with the former already on next season's fixture list following their promotion from League Two.
