Both Stead and Shelton were snapped up by manager Neil Warnock in last January's transfer window and have both impressed the Bramall Lane faithful since there arrivals.
Stead, 24has been inspirational since his £750,000 move from Championship League winners Sunderland after being rescued from a loan move at Derby County. He has, to date played 11 (+2) games for the Blades and netted four goals - most recently in the 1-1 draw at Charlton Athletic.
Unfortunately Shelton hasn't been included much in Neil Warnock's team but this was due to being unfit when made his £1,800,000 move from Swedish club Helsinborgs. He made his debut as a substitute at Bolton Wanderers (lost 0-1), and has to date started just twice (+2), but has yet to score.
He did dispatch the ball into the back of the Aston Villa goal in front of the travelling fans but the referee judged that the ball has gone out for a goal kick before Stead had pulled back for the Jamaican international scored.
Blades boss Neil Warnock is likely to take Wigan Athletic to the wire with a two pronged attack with Stead and Shelton as the front runners. United know that a point, at least will keep the Blades up but will condemn Wigan Athletic to the Championship.
A Wigan win keeps them up but United will have to rely on the result between Manchester United and West Ham United to determine Premiership football season or not.
