Despite relegation from the Premier League, Sheffield United FC have announced the profits for the club which have decreased.
United saw profits dip by £1.3m when relegated. The Blades saw television revenues dip by £9m when relegated to the Championship.
PLC Chairman Kevin McCabe said:"The devolpment of the Blades as a leisure, services and property comapany with an international portfolio of football brands as its core has progressed, despite the temporary setback of our current Championship league position.
"Our primary objective remains to return to the top echelon of football as soon as possible. We intend to sensibly invest in both the salary level and squad quality to enable us to maximise our chances of an early return to the Premier League."
McCabe went on to comment about Kevin Blackwells appointment. He said:"Kevin Blackwells appointment as 1st team manager allows the club to reorganise our football operations to meet with current best practice. Kevin has made an excellent start on his return to Bramall Lane and demonstrated the first class managerial experience and motivational qualities.
