Higdon, 30 joins from Dutch side NEC Nijmegen for an undisclosed fee where he netted 14 goals in a struggling top flight side last season. The Liverpool born forward began his career with Crewe Alexandra in 2003 before joining Falkirk 4 years later. He also had spells with St Mirren and Motherwell before moving to the Netherlands in 2013.
He told sufc.co.uk; "I have jumped at the chance to come here. This is an ambitious Club, with an excellent squad and a management team that is highly respected. "I have to admit I am slightly behind in terms of pre-season fitness, but I have kept myself in shape and gradually, with the assistance of games, I should be up to full speed sooner rather than later, hopefully in the next few weeks."
