According to The Sun newspaper the Italian Forward has snubbed big money moves to the Premiership duo (who have both won the Premiership title in recent years) to remain with his boyhood club for whom he has been with since aged seven. “I’ve been here 10 years and wanted to pledge my long-term future,” De Girolamo is quoted as saying for The Sun.
Blades boss Danny Wilson was pleased to hold onto the young talent who may be tempted to use the striker in future games; “I am pleased that we have secured the services of another exciting prospect from out Academy. Diego will continue to work hard up at Shirecliffe and we will monitor his development closely, as we do with all the youngsters,” Wilson told sufc.co.uk. “He has a lot of hard work ahead of him, but having seen him play this season he is certainly one for the future.”
