Blackwell originally signed a deal to be in charge until the end of the current campaign but after eight wins and only two losses there is a possibility that his contract will be extended.
He himself said:"When i came here i had an agreement with the chairman as to the length which is the end of the season, but were not there yet. I am stuck by that and he is stuck by that but right now both parties have agreed a contract whatever the length is and we'll both stick to it.
"At some point i'm sure we will talk. As time has gone on we have built something and it is now looking like the club it used to be."
Their has been rumours that Blackwell has had talks with McCabe in the week.
