After the match, Blackwell said: "We were punished like that (concede late) on one or two occasions earlier in the season when we deserved something from the games such as at Birmingham and Norwich. They were very cruel so it's nice to see it happening the other way round.
"I am so pleased for the lads and the amazing fans who made themselves heard throughout because it hasn't been the easiest of fixtures for all of us. Supporters had a long trip without being absolutely certain the game was on, and we have been holed up waiting, too.
"There was three inches of snow outside our hotel on the morning of the game and all we could do for preparation was have a snowball fight and a cup of tea!
"The win was against all the odds and the lads worked their socks off. We started well, got ahead and then when Darius was sent-off we had around an hour to hang on - there was spirit in abundance.
"They threw the kitchen sink at us but we defended magnificently and I thought Danny Webber put in a great shift up top on his own.
"To concede at the death was a real blow and the lads were so angry at failing to get another clean sheet - their faces were full of elation when we got the winner."
Did you know? That yesterday's crowd at St Marys of 13,257 was the lowest attendance ever at the Stadium since it was built eight years ago.
