United totalled up 15 games without a loss on the road last season, starting at Bristol City on the 4th October 2008 and finishing at Burnley on the 20th April 2009. Despite the great record, the Blades finished joint top in the away league table from last season. They were joined by Birmingham City and Reading, a mix of 18 wins and draws and only five losses. Wolverhampton impressively totted 12 wins, more than anyone, but suffered more defeats compared to the Blades, the Blues and the Royals.
"The lads played without fear and that added pressure, which saw them blossom and develop a real confidence when we were on the road", said Blackie.
"We knew our strengths and resilience and in the last half-hour of matches we really pulled out some results, especially after the home supporters vented their frustrations and discontent at their players. We showed no signs of buckling until the Burnley defeat."
