A permanent stay at Bramall Lane cannot be ruled out, but Nosworthy insists his intention is to position himself for as many offers as possible in the summer.
"Coming to Sheffield opens all doors. Here there are all sorts of avenues," he told the Chronicle. "Playing for a big club means everyone takes notice of you.
"At Sunderland I knew I was going to be more or less out of the picture until the end of the season. I could have stayed there and fought for my place, but the manager had told me he wanted other players and I would be out of the picture.
"It is always disappointing to be pushed out of the door, but that is part and parcel of football and there are no hard feelings."
