A statement made by the Official Sheffield United FC website; www.sufc.co.uk read; 'Due to the continued rainfall over the last few days as well as snow showers today (Tuesday), the Bramall Lane surface was saturated as of Tuesday afternoon, with standing water spread across the pitch. The areas that caused the main problems recently have been covered up since Monday, to protect them from the elements. Sheffield United has been in contact with the Football League today, who advise that we should review the situation very early on Wednesday morning, at which time a pitch inspection will be organised, should one deem to be required.'
Blades-Mad are currently unclear as to whether this fixture will take place but expect a pitch inspection to be carried out, only then we will be certain. We advise all supporters travelling to the match to keep checking the official site throughout the day were an announcement should be made as to this fixtures go ahead.
