The former Blade came back to Bramall Lane on Saturday to win 1-0 with a Clive Clarke first-half goal.
He said: "I was really happy to come back to the Lane - it's been a long time and the fans gave me a great welcome.
"I hope they go on and win their three games. They've got a great team, they've got lots of options and everyone who wears their shirt gives their all. It just didn't work for them and that's what happens.
"Teams come to Bramall Lane and raise their game. We were all excited to be playing here and now I've seen it from the other side. It's hard but that's what they have got to cope with," Asaba added.
