The event went ahead after a few of our message-board users organised the forum on our website. Many of our posters took up the opportunity to attend the Q and A session, without knowing who exactly was going be in attendance, but they were assured that people 'within the club' will be there.
To much amazement, the Blades manager Danny Wilson was at the forum, ready to be grilled with probing questions from the Unitedites, as well as other club officials.
Wilson has been much maligned since becoming the club's fifth manager in the space of a year, but he had the courage and decency to turn up at the forum, which took place at a private location.
One poster on our message-board said that the event was 'a total success, Danny Wilson spoke with passion and his plans for next season have whet my appetite.'
Wilson vowed to ensure his players go into the 2011/2012 campaign with the correct mentality, and also to win over the doubters who criticised his arrival at the club.
He said: "Success for the Blades next season is not just about results because our style of play is important too. Supporters have to be entertained as well as watching the team win and they must enjoy what they see.
"Players are weighing up options at this time of the year and thinking things over. I have made some initial enquiries about players but it is still early days.
"This is a big club that players will want to join and I know, next season, playing against us it will be many teams 'cup final' so we need to sign players with the right mentality to revel in that kind of situation."
