Che Adams netted twice, a goal in each half, whilst Conor sammon saw his goal ruled out for a foul on the keeper as the Blades beat local rivals Chesterfield by two clear goals, and gave the home support what they craved for.
Adkins said; "Che has got a long way to go. He's a very raw talent who did very well with his two goals. Chesterfield did very well, but the lads at the back did really well. The players defended well. We're still a work in progress but it's pleasing to get a victory and three points on the board. We responded in the correct manner following last week's defeat."
Meanwhile the Chesterfield boss, Dean Saunders, who during his playing days had a stint at Sheffield United, was upbeat despite defeat; "It was a good performance all-round. We can't play much better than that. Sometimes you don't get what you deserve and today was one of those days. What can I say to them? I think they've done really well but we just haven't got the result. I thought we dominated the game from start to finish. We hit the post and the bar and the goalkeeper has made some unbelievable saves. It was poor defending for the goals. Not coming out of the traps has cost us. We never got the run of the ball and sometimes that is football. You've got to look into it and see what you can improve and there's definitely things we can improve. Lee Novak did really well on his debut. He's a class player and a willing runner who is better than this league."
