The fixtures were officially released this morning, but yesterday the Football League announced that the Blades would face Nott’s County at home on 3rd August as part of its 125 year anniversary celebrations. In addition United will host home ties on Boxing Day and on the final day – just like last season.
Our first away fixture of the season is 7 days later at Brentford, the losing finalists in the Play-Offs.
Next season will be spiced up with Yorkshire Derbies against Rotherham United and Bradford City. The Blades face the Millers on 7 September at New York Stadium and return to the Lane on 8 March, whilst they face the Bantams at Valley Parade on 24 August and in S2 on 18 Janaury.
Wolverhampton Wanderers will be our most fierce competitors next season and first face the Old Gold at Molineux on 28 September and at Bramall Lane on 22 March – marking the Blades 125th anniversary since their formation on the same day in 1889.
