An intriguing season hangs in the wings for the Blades, as tough opponents have dropped in and come up to the Coca Cola-Championship. Below is all of the provisional details which you can note, although we do stress, these are only and outline and they may change:-The season begins on 8th August and ends on 2nd May.
-No game on New Year's Day or Eve; the FA Cup third round takes place on Saturday 2nd January.
-Free international weekends on Saturday 5th September, Saturday 10th October and Saturday 14th November.
-Two games over the Easter weekend, Saturday 3rd and Monday 5th April, but only one on the August bank holiday weekend; Saturday 29th August.
-The Championship has ten midweek fixtures.
-March is the busiest month for League matches, with six in place. January has four, all others five.
-The Championship play-off final is on a Saturday and takes place a week before the League One and League Two finals. This is a result of World Cup 2010; the cut-off period to be included in a World Cup squad is Wed 26th May and the play-off final has to be before then.
