Club Guide

Team: Bolton Wanderers FC
Ground: Reebok Stadium
Capacity: 28,723
Date Visited: 31 March 2007 (v Sheffield United)

Stadium and Pitch: 7/10

... of course United have travelled to this ground a few times since it opened; but then I didn't regularly attend away fixtures.

The Reebok Stadium was as I expected, having seen it so much on the television; the only niggles about is is that every stand is the same and looks like there is no room for expanding.

Outside the stadium is great, with a shopping complex and a McDonalds as well as a couple of hotels - ideal for long distance fans.

Inside the ground was great too, away fans were handed the top and bottom tier behind goal (myself on top tier) - the bottom tier was a round circular stand with the top tier each having its individual stand.

Overall it was a nice ground it visit and although not the better of the top flight grounds it certainly wasn't the worst and would visit again.

Programme: 7/10

Bolton Wanderers offered seven pages dedicated to Sheffield United with virtually all the players covered (18 in total) whilst the A-Z of Wanderers players made a nice feature.

Performance and Result: 8/10

:: Bolton Wanderers Sheffield United ::
If neutral fans were watching this game they would have fallen asleep by half-time; it certainly wasn't a classic between the battle of the roses and some will not forgive me if I forget about this game in years to come.

With twelve minutes remaining former Blades youth player Kevin Davies struck home the eventual winner; it was a stroke of bad luck by United who by no means didn't deserve to go away empty handed.

Atmosphere: 5/10

The atmosphere was as drab and disinteresting as the game itself with neither fans feeling the need to motivate there team.

Overall: 27/40
